Reintroduction of Accelerated Depreciation
As you are all aware, the Union Budget 2014- 15 was announced today by the Hon'ble Finance Minister Shri Arun Jaitley.
In his address he had inter-alia mentioned the measures taken / proposed to be taken by the Government in respect of its commitment to provide 24 X 7 electricity to all citizens.
While watching the speech we were disappointed that the Hon'ble Minister made no mention about Accelerated Depreciation.
However, in the Hindi version of the Union Budget 2014-15, we are pleased to note that the Hon'ble Minister has indeed restored the Accelerated Depreciation Scheme to boost the wind sector.
In this connection our Chairman, Prof. Dr. K Kasthurirangaian had immediately sent a letter thanking the Hon'ble Minister for his decision in restoring AD for the Wind Sector and at the same time requesting the Hon'ble Finance Minister to arrange to issue a clarificatory statement that AD is indeed restored.
We are now awaiting an official communication from the Finance Ministry.
Thanks for Reinstatement of AD for Wind Power
