One Power Engineer’s Society of Tamil Nadu (PESOT) challenged the scheme of banking allowed in Tamil Nadu. IWPA had impleaded itself and submitted the views of the wind Industry as a whole before the High Court. On 24.4.2012 the High Court of Madras dismissed the writ petition. APTEL itself has declared the banking scheme as contractual right of WEG owners and as such the Writ Petition is not maintainable. Hence the rumours spread in the Wind energy segment that the banking facility would go shortly is now proved to be wrong due to the dismissal of Writ Petition and this will help all WEG owners under Captive Consumption in a strong way to continue the banking scheme. Copy of the High Court’s Order will be mailed on its receipt for the information of the members.
